Get to know Artifact's incredible team of women!

Get to know our team of hard working, incredibly talented women who make our Artifact world go round. Be sure to say hello the next time you stop into Artifact.

Artifact: What has been your favorite find at Artifact?
Leah: Oddities are my favorite. I love being able to learn from our customers about history and curiosities. One time a consignor brought in what looked like a telephone contraption- But no, it was a 1960's tabletop menu reader for all those dark romantic restaurants back in the day.

Artifact: What creative outlet do you have outside of work?
Leah: I love dancing! There's nothing like blasting music in your house and dancing your ass off. For me, Cuban Timba Music is what gets my bones shaking no matter the day or time.

Artifact: Who is your style icon?
Leah: An Italian woman who has lived a full and adventurous life. She exudes a classic confident sexiness, is graceful, and has a sly twinkle in her eye all at once. I envision an essence more than a specific person. That is my ideal, but usually you'll
find me in athleisure wear on my days off- I'm always on the go!

Artifact: What has been your find at Artifact?
Lindsay: My favorite find has probably been my perfectly broken in Johnny thunders t-shirt that I wanted all through my teen years.

Artifact: What creative outlet do you have outside of work?
Lindsay: I’ve been messing with ceramics lately, but my biggest creative outlet is definitely makeup.

Artifact: Who is your style icon?
Lindsay: Choosing a style icon is so difficult! Maybe Rita Hayworth and Lisa from My Cousin Vinny.

Artifact: What has been your favorite find at Artifact?
Cora: Turquoise & textiles! Artifact has a treasure trove of vintage turquoise jewelry and beautiful rugs from around the world. I always find one or the other to fall in love with.

Artifact: What creative outlet do you have outside of work?
Cora: When I'm not at Artifact, I lend my creative services, @cora.deve, to local businesses needing some TLC. And on any given day, you can find me with a coffee in hand trying keeping up with my adventurous son, Miles.

Artifact: Who is your (interior) style icon?
Cora: A mix between @justinablakeney of @thejungalow and @carlaypage. Both of these beautiful women create spaces that directly speak to my soul.

Artifact: What has been your favorite find at Artifact?
Carley: That’s a very hard question. Using consignment, I’ve swapped out most my closet and furniture. Let’s just go with my rattan and glass coffee table. It’s really opened up the space in my living room.

Artifact: What creative outlet do you have outside of work?
Carley: I’m the creator of a fiber art business called @xhiled_textiles . I focus my weaving business on using natural fibers and creating organic compositions. I’m so thrilled to also start offering home design services. I help folks create space in their home that looks good, feels good, and serves their needs. This is a new endeavor for me and it’s already so much fun.

Artifact: Who is your style icon?
Carley: Monica Canilao. She’s an artist based in Oakland. Though my style is nothing like hers, I get a wave of inspiration every time I see how she styles herself. It’s a little reminder to just be myself as authentically and unapologetically as possible -And also that happiness comes from being comfortable in my own skin.

Artifact: What has been your find at Artifact?
Mary: My favorite find at Artifact....wow that’s a hard one! My go-to vintage Landlubber bell bottoms? Or my growing collection of velvet paintings? Hmmmm, my ultimate Artifact find probably was a vintage 1970s terry cloth loveseat complete with the brand name, the “plush crush!"

Artifact: What creative outlet do you have outside of work?
Mary: Outside of work I am a leather worker. I restore vintage cowboy boots, designer bags, handcraft my own goods and just started dabbling in upholstery. I also have a 1989 Dodge van I am designing the interior for.

Artifact: Who is your style icon?
Mary: My style icons would have to be a combination of the leather clad 80s Easy Rider biker babes and 70s female country stars. If Dolly Parton rode a chopper, she'd probably look like me!

Artifact: What has been your find at Artifact?
Natalie: Tough call between all my Patrick Nagel prints and my Japanese abalone inlay coffee table. Don't make me pick favorites!

Artifact: What creative outlet do you have outside of work?
Natalie: I love playing music, the last year I've really gotten into making electronic/synthesis music and I am hoping to produce something by next summer.

Artifact: Who is your style icon?
Natalie: If Kate Bush/Rihanna/Fran Drescher could all have a love baby, I hope that it'd be me.

Artifact: What has been your favorite find at Artifact?
Annalise: My collection of crystals and taxidermy (rabbit skeleton, mounted bat and butterflies, crocodile head etc) and an incredible Vince wool/leather coat.

Artifact: What creative outlet do you have outside of work?
Annalise: To be honest Artifact is my creative outlet. As a mom I don’t have a lot of time to create art at home, but when I’m working/merchandising at Artifact I’m surrounded by beautiful things and beautiful people. It’s so inspiring!

Artifact: Who is your (interior) style icon?
Annalise: Stevie Nicks and Lydia Deetz.

Artifact: What has been your favorite find at Artifact?
Atiana: A 1940s reversible Japanese souvenir jacket.

Artifact: What creative outlet do you have outside of work?
Atiana: I just finished my new line of jewelry for Natural Mind available at Artifact and through my online shop. ~ @naturalmindpdx

Artifact: Who is your style icon?
Atiana: @valentimes

Artifact: What has been your favorite find at Artifact?
Onyx: A pink embroidered silk duster jacket.

Artifact: What creative outlet do you have outside of work?
Onyx: Outside of work I spend most of my time with my bees, reading/studying Tarot (@onyx_marie), and taking photographs. I’m currently working on a honeybee conservation photo/video project called @beecomingproject - this has been my biggest creative outlet as of late.

Artifact: Who is your style icon?
Onyx: Honestly, I gather most of my style inspiration from flowers. I am constantly mesmerized by their many colors, shapes, smells and patterns. It amazes me how many ways they have found to adorn themselves.

Artifact: What has been your favorite find at Artifact?
Lilou: An awesome print of one of Mark Beyer's artwork.

Artifact: What creative outlet do you have outside of work?
Lilou: I'm passionate about photography and currently taking darkroom classes at PCC. I also love skateboarding which I think is a creative outlet as well.

Artifact: Who is your style icon?
Lilou: I think both of my main style icons are the female skateboarder Nora Vasconsellos and the model Zoe Kravitz, although they both have very different fashion styles and lifestyles.

Artifact: What has been your favorite find at Artifact?
Miles: A green display case for my Star Wars Legos. My favorite color is green.

Artifact: What creative outlet do you have outside of school?
Miles: Jump on the trampoline with the sprinklers underneath.

Artifact: Who is your style icon?
Miles: @tanfrance from Queer Eye
